About the role

We’re seeking a safety-focused Geotechnical Engineer to provide operational geotechnical support in development and production. Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting longhole stoping mining operations. You’ll design and implement ground support plans, conduct inspections, deliver expert geotechnical advice for mine designs all while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Roster: 8/6, 12 hours per day (Dayshift only)

• Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW

Travel options

• Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family-friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support is available, along with a residential allowance

• DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance

• FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor of Engineering – Geotechnical or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role

• Must be able to work autonomously

• Proficient in Deswik, CAD, RocScience, DIPS, UNWEDGE, FLAC3D, MAP3D

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and make sound technical decisions in support of mining operations

• Experience with modelling

• Strong technical writing skills

• Strong safety focus

• Committed to a positive, safety-driven, and collaborative work culture

• Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
