About the role
We’re seeking a safety-focused Geotechnical Engineer to provide operational geotechnical support in development and production. Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting longhole stoping mining operations. You’ll design and implement ground support plans, conduct inspections, deliver expert geotechnical advice for mine designs all while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Roster: 8/6, 12 hours per day (Dayshift only)
Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW
Travel options
Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family-friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support is available, along with a residential allowance
DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance
FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor of Engineering – Geotechnical or equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Must be able to work autonomously
Proficient in Deswik, CAD, RocScience, DIPS, UNWEDGE, FLAC3D, MAP3D
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and make sound technical decisions in support of mining operations
Experience with modelling
Strong technical writing skills
Strong safety focus
Committed to a positive, safety-driven, and collaborative work culture
Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
