About the role
Join us as an Electrical Engineer and take on a key role in managing and improving electrical infrastructure at Peak Gold Mine. With a strong focus on high-voltage systems and control and instrumentation, you’ll ensure compliance, deliver innovative solutions, and support safe and efficient operations. Working alongside a collaborative and inclusive team, you’ll have the opportunity to lead impactful projects while enjoying the benefits of residential living or FIFO flexibility.
Roster: Residential 5/2 or 4/3 or FIFO 8/6
Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW
Travel options
Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family-friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support is available, along with a residential allowance
DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance
FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne
Key responsibilities
Ensure compliance with NSW mining legislation, Australian Standards, and site electrical safety systems
Provide technical support for underground electrical infrastructure, including fault finding, maintenance strategies, and system reliability
Plan and deliver electrical projects, including design review, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
Monitor and optimise plant performance through data analysis, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support and guide site electricians and technicians, promoting safe work practices and technical capability
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience in a similar role within mining or heavy industry, ideally with underground exposure
Proven project management experience across electrical design, delivery, and commissioning
Competency in engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD) and maintenance management systems
Experience with high-voltage and underground systems, including drilling equipment, winder control, and shaft hoisting
Current unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s License, with strong analytical and fault-finding capability
